Gestalt Math Teacher Named Eureka Fellow

April 7, 2017

After completing an intense finalist round, Shanita McLaurin, teacher at Klondike Academy, is an official Eureka Math Fellow. Eureka Fellows are a group of outstanding educators selected to work in collaboration with the Eureka Math writing team, to revise the Eureka Math curriculum. As a fellow, Shanita will provide feedback on the curriculum and delivery of professional development to educators locally and nationwide.

Here's why Shanita chose to be a part of the Eureka math professions development fellowship:
"As an educator I've reached a point of my career where I was searching for an opportunity to grow myself and impact those along the way. With this fellowship I will be able to share my love for Math with educators across the world. Through this I can teach educators how to enhance their practices so that students are receiving highly engaged and effective lessons. I want students to love math as much as math teachers do! I also look forward to helping GCS grow our amazing teachers in the math world!"

Congrats, Shanita!
