School Leader Pipeline
The School Leader pipeline moves leaders from Resident School Leader to Dean, then from Dean to Principal. Teachers interested in becoming School Leaders may move from a role as Master Teacher or Instructional Coach to Resident School Leader or Dean (see Teacher Leader Pipeline for position details), depending on experience, performance, interest, and aptitude.
Resident School Leaders are emerging school leaders--deans or principals--who spend one year in a school-based residency program shadowing a high performing veteran principal. Depending on the skillset and competency of the resident, the resident leader will be placed as a dean or a school principal for the upcoming school year. Resident leaders are typically, but not exclusively, recruited from among the network's Instructional Coaches or Master Teachers.
